MGCCHR: Election of 2021/22 Club Committee

Dear Members of the MG Car Club Hunter Region,
 

In accordance with the Club’s Constitution, at the start of each membership year all Committee positions are declared vacant and the membership elects a new Committee. This usually occurs at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) conducted on the second Tuesday of August and attended by the Club membership. At that AGM candidates for the Committee positions are nominated and seconded, and votes are cast for contested positions.

 
The prevailing COVID-19 situation makes it impossible for us to conduct such a traditional face-to-face AGM for the 2021/22 membership year. As an alternative, the Committee has organised the following:
 
  • Steve Jones will act as Returning Officer for election of the 2021/22 Committee. The Returning Officer’s role is to conduct election of the new Committee.
  • Members of the MG Car Club Hunter Region are requested to lodge with the Returning Officer their nominations for 2021/22 Committee positions. Each nomination must include the name of a seconder for the nomination, and advice that the nominee accepts the nomination. 
  • Nominations must be received by the Returning Officer by 5 p.m. on Friday 23 July 2021. In accordance with the Constitution, all financial full members (and not associate members) are permitted to nominate, or be nominated for the Committee. Eligible members can self nominate, as long as that nomination is seconded.
  • At the close of nominations those positions for which there is a single nomination will be declared. The Returning Officer will conduct an email poll of the membership for any contested positions. That email poll will take one week. The Returning Officer will then declare those contested positions.

  • Sporting Director (incumbent (Gary Piper)
  • Magazine Editor (incumbent Graham Haywood)
  • Social Director (incumbent Anne Pettigrew)
  • Public Relations Officer (incumbent Ian Ashton)
  • Regalia Officer (incumbent Wendy Croker)
  • Committee Person (incumbent Gary Croker)

Please provide your nominations to Steve Jones (follow the link for details) preferably by email, in person, or by phone (at reasonable time of day) by 5 p.m. on Friday 23 July 2021. Make sure you state the position for which each nominee is being nominated, the name of a seconder for each nomination, and confirm that the nominee has agreed to the nomination.
